Lantang Trekk. 5th day Phedi-Laurebina Yak

Imagen
5 th day Phedi-Laurebina Yak 200 mts total(though we did 600 mts) 7 hours I did not mention up to this point the difference of speed between Johan and I which was high..  Johan would always be in front, quite ahead of me. I would either go few meters behind or very very far away, with no chance to be heard..in those cases he would always wait for me at some point of the trekk, then meet me and continue with this kind of rythm. During some parts, especially in the forest we were good, walking same and talking. While climbing, I would be delayed, and also while going down where I was slow, I was afraid to hurt myself while going down, especially if it was too steep In any case, that day he started fast and I did not feel like going fast but moving down. For me, the pace was quite fast in general and that day I wanted to take it easy. So at one point, we meet the Belgiums who left earlier than us but whom we will eventually meet in our running through the mou...

Lantang Trek. 4rd day Thadepadi- Phedi

4rd day Thadepadi- Phedi 10 kms(not sure).100 mts. Around 6 hours We went through a very cloudy day. Johan would call it “Harry Potter land”. Again ups and downs, ups and dows. We in total we climbed 100 mts but there were more than 500 mts. We arrived there, again the first ones, and there were only two lodges, one down in a valley and one up but both have an amazing views of the mountain. We could not see when we arrive due to the fog but could perceived somehow. We checked both and finally decided to stay in the one up because we though views would be better. Big mistake since it was the one with lower quality. Actually when I get into the shower I could have a strong smell to goat and no wonder way, later we found out they keep the goats on the shower for tourist. This time we decided to socialize more and pay a visit to our neighbors, all the others (Belgiums, Spanish, Germans) in the other lodge. There we found a...

Latang Trek. 3rd day Kutumsang-Thadepati

3 rd day Kutumsang-Thadepati 12 km- 1.200 mtr climbing. Around 6 hours.          I just remember going up up up..and fog, fog all over, we hardly could see anything. Well we passed through at least four waterfalls, all covered with fog.. We arrive however, at 2 and were the first of the groups (Belgiums and couple of German and Spanish), in general we were the fastest, mainly for Johan not for me, who basically followed him as fast as I could. This would be our main point of discussion however. Other days, if we arrived later than others, was mainly for our long breaks for lunch (again thanks to me:) We first thought of going to Gopte and do some more way today but finally, after seeing all the elevation of the day, 1.200 mts, we thought it will not be very wise to climb more and be exposed to the AMS or mountain sickness. Especially because the next day, if we did that, we also had a heavy climbing passing through one of the highest points of o...

Lantang Trekk. Second day. Chisapani Kutumsang 18 km. 300 mt climb. It took us about 7 hours walking. We started early and met  Malti and Ana on the way who were about to take a short cut to the same route. We were of course, following the long way and were lucky to met them right there. So we decided to take the short cut with them. It was a very steep way down through the mountain for several km (maybe 7).  After that there was an steady way and again we went up through the mountain. A way with many stone steps..I still remember the pain of climbing the steps, looong stair of stone steps. I also remember of this day again the number of terraces that followed us from Chisapani. They looked beautiful while following the road to the mountain. On the way we also met the group of Belgiums that were also following our group. They were with two nepalies that met on the way and who we did not know if they belonged to the ...
